Bobcats roll past Leon in Anderson-Shiro tourney

ANDERSON — The Orangefield Bobcats asserted their will over Leon on their way to an easy 10-1 victory Saturday to wrap up the Anderson-Shiro Tournament perfect.
In the bottom of the second inning, Leon tied things up at one.
The Bobcats pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. Johnny Armstrong singled on a 1-1 count, scoring one run and Kent Michael singled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Orangefield scored five runs in the sixth inning. The Bobcats’ offense in the inning came from singles by Michael and Kaden Dubose, a walk by Ryan Deutsch, and an error on a ball put in play by Brett Fregia.
Gunner Jones took the win for Bobcats. He went four innings, allowing one run on two hits and striking out four. Deutsch threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
The Bobcats saw the ball well, racking up eight hits in the game. Michael and Jones each had multiple hits for Bobcats.
Orangefield moves to 6-1-1 on the season and will travel to Memorial on Tuesday.
