PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 8:30 a.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report of a single vehicle rollover crash near the intersection of US 96 and FM 105 in Jasper County.

Initial reports indicate that a 2007 Peterbuilt truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling southbound on US 96.  According to the driver, the load shifted and caused the vehicle to veer to the left, striking the concrete barrier.  The vehicle traveled along the concrete barrier for approximately 90-feet before rolling over onto its right side.

 The driver, 44-year-old Randall Jess Smith of Buna, received minor injuries, but refused medical treatment.
