A 42 year old Cleveland man was injured in a one vehicle crash after his vehicle overturned, when he failed to control his speed after hitting a rail road track.
Orange Police Officer J. Patronella was dispatched to a one vehicle rollover crash in the 3400 block of Womack Road and Interstate 10 Service road at 2:42 a.m. Monday.
Upon the officer’s arrival, she found a 2009 Saturn SUV laying on its roof. The driver was going west on the northbound service road, and drove off the road at the intersection striking the railroad tracks.
The impact caused the vehicle to flip and trap the driver inside the SUV.
The Orange Fire Department responded to the scene and had to use the jaws of life to remove the man from the vehicle.
Once the driver was removed from the vehicle, he was transported to St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont by Acadian Ambulance Service with non life threatening injuries according to Patronella.
The driver received a citation for failure to control speed.
