Lathrop, Bobcats bombard Tekoa Academy, 82-28

ORANGEFIELD — Orangefield’s Aven Lathrop was on fire Tuesday night as he lifted the Orangefield Bobcats past Tekoa Academy 82-28 in the season opener at Bobcat Gym as coach Jake McDonald nabbed his first win as Bobcat head coach.
Latrhop erupted for 29 points as he outscored Tekoa Academy on his own.
He was 12-of-16 from the field and was a perfect 5-for-5 from three-point land.
Cade Prejean tallied nine points for the Bobcats while Tyrone Waggoner had seven and Ryan Deutsch, Tyler Greenwood, Bryce Bergeron and Alex Catt each scored six.
Jarrett Rice led the Bobcats with six rebounds while Catt, who had two blocked shots, and Waggoner added five apiece. Deutsch contributed four assists and four steals while Waggoner added four assists.
The Bobcats built a 54-14 edge by halftime.
The Bobcats return to action Monday when they host Legacy Christian.
