Two injured in wreck on Friday

A Orange County Sheriff Deputy on patrol in the area of State Highway 62 and 105 drove up on a major accident in the intersection shortly before 10 p.m. on Friday.
The Sheriff’s Office immediately notified Orange Police and Fire Departments of the accident. According to information obtained on the scene, a GMC Sierra pickup truck traveling south bound on State Highway 62 failed to yield at the red light.
The truck then hit a Chrysler 300 traveling north bound on State Highway 62.
Due to the impact the driver of the 300 was crushed and became trapped in the vehicle.
Firefighters had to use to jaws of life to remove the driver from the vehicle. The north bound lanes of State Highway 62 were closed for over a hour while emergency personnel worked the accident.
The driver of the GMC truck was transported to the Medical Center in Port Arthur for treatment and giving a citation for failure to yield.
The driver of the Chrysler was transported emergency traffic to St. Elizabeth Hospital in unknown condition.
Orange Police was assisted on scene by Bridge City Police and Fire Department.
