Orange County Emergency personal has confirmed that three people were exposed to a chemical at International Paper Plant located on State Highway 87 North in Orange.

According to EMS personal, only two people have been transported to local hospitals. One was transported to Houston by Medical helicopter.

The incident happened at approximately 1:40 p.m. Thursday. The scene was work by Orange Fire Department, Orange County ESD 3, Acadian Ambulance, and City of Orange Police.

International Paper Public Relations Director Ashley Moore released this statement about the incident:

“Our thoughts are with the employees and their families. An internal incident investigation is underway. The safety of employees and contractors is a core value and the top priority at our mill. We continue to focus on making sure all of our team members are working safely.”
