Jeffery Allen Sanchez was released from the Orange County Jail on Wednesday after bond was reduced on charges linking him to first-degree felony Injury to a Child.
Tuesday, Judge Derry Dunn lowered Sanchez’s bond from $250,000 to $100,000.
He is now out on bond, and the baby is now out of the hospital.
However, doctors say it may take a while to see the long-term effects of his injuries. This all depends on the extent of the damages, as to how quickly and how much he will heal.
Child Protective Services is still investigating.
The mother of the baby now has custody of the infant and another sibling.
Sanchez initially told medical staff, as well as law enforcement, that the child “accidentally fell.” After results of the medical tests were completed, the doctors informed officials and Sanchez that they believed the injuries were caused by both blunt force trauma and violent shaking, otherwise known as Shaken Baby Syndrome.
Even though Sanchez is out on bond he isn’t allowed to have contact with the kids.
