Vidor motorcyclist injured in crash on US 69 in Hardin County

PRESS RELEASE —At approximately 2 p.m., on Sunday, the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of US 69 and FM 1003 in Hardin County.
A Harley Davidson motorcycle was traveling southbound in the outside traffic lane on US 69. A Dodge passenger vehicle was traveling northbound on US 69. The driver of the Dodge made a left turn into the crossover, failed to yield and pulled out in front of the motorcycle. The motorcycle slammed into the passenger-side of the Dodge and was thrown from his bike.
The driver of the motorcycle, David Funkle, 52, of Vidor, was transported by medical helicopter to St. Elizabeth hospital with several broken bones. His injuries did not appear to be life threatening. Funkle was wearing a helmet at the time of the collision.
The driver of the Dodge passenger vehicle, Kelley Foxworth, 50, of Warren, and her two passengers were not injured.
Foxworth was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield the right of way at a yield intersection.
