Two Vehicle Crash on Highway 62 in Orange County Injures One Person

PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 6:20p.m., the Texas Department of Public Safety received a report of a two vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 62 and FM 2802 in Orange County.
A 1994 Ford pickup truck was traveling northbound on Highway 62. A 1999 Honda passenger vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 62. The driver of the Ford attempted to make left turn onto FM 2802 and struck the Honda.
The driver of the Honda, 27-year-old Rebecca Pearl of Orange, was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital. Her injuries did not appear to be life threatening. The driver of the Ford, a 16-year-old boy from Vidor, was not injured in the crash.
The 16-year-old driver was issued a traffic citation for failure to yield the right of way-turning left.
Highway 62 was closed for about an hour, but has since reopened.
