Child injured in hit and run in Vidor

PRESS RELEASE — At approximately 6 p.m. on Friday, there was an auto-pedestrian crash that occurred in the Denbow Mobile Home Park on FM 1131 in Orange County.
According to witnesses, a gray Chevrolet SUV was traveling within the mobile home park when a small child ran into the street. The vehicle struck the child and left the crash scene. Witness stated that the driver appeared to be a white male.
The 2-year-old child was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital. The child had a visible head contusion; however, the child’s condition is unknown at this time.
Orange County Troopers continue to gather evidence and are working to determine the identity of the driver and the exact type of vehicle that was involved in this crash.
The auto- pedestrian crash that occurred in the Denbow Mobile Home Park on Friday, April 15, 2016, in Orange County is still under investigation. Troopers continue to speak with eyewitnesses and have gathered a substantial amount of evidence over the last 48 hours.
At this time, there is no updated information on the medical status of the 2-year-old child that was struck in the crash.
