Late Wednesday afternoon, January 13, 2016, administrators at Little Cypress-Mauriceville High School received a tip that a student had a ”fake” gun that he was trying to sell on campus. The situation was investigated immediately; it was determined that the student was trying to sell a BB pistol and large knife. Additionally, the student was in possession of alcohol.
According to protocol, the Sheriff’s Department was called and the student was arrested. Under the Texas Education Code, having an illegal weapon at school is a “must expel” disciplinary consequence.
