PINEHURST —
A friend of the community needs help.
Gordon “Gordy” Fregia, former president and now honorary member of the Pinehurst Volunteer Fire Department (PHVFD) is battling cancer. He has been a volunteer firefighter for over 15 years with PHVFD.
Gordy has insurance however he is required to pay his out-of-pocket expenses, $6,000, prior to treatment.
Gordy was diagnosed with Colon cancer in January 2012. He went through surgery and months of chemo and was expecting to hear good news when he went for a follow-up. Instead, he was diagnosed again with colon cancer in January 2013.
The Pinehurst Police Officer’s Association will hold a Link sale 10 a.m. Thursday, April 25 in the Sabine Federal Credit Union, 1939 Strickland Drive in Pinehurst.
