Health inspections continue through Orange County. Pakco #1, 3031 Highway 12 in Vidor recently received a routine inspection. The business received a score of 85 out of a possible 100. Demerits are for in need of name and address on all bags of ice sold, a door in need of being resealed, thirty-four expired items on the shelves and slime found inside the ice machine.
Other scores include:
• Texas Country Store #10 located at 9508 Highway 12 in Mauriceville. Score: 86. Demerits are for the need of name and address on all bags of ice sold, 128 expired items on the shelves, several dead roaches found in storage area, the cappuccino machine in need of being cleaned, vegetable cutter in need of being cleaned of old foods, and mold found at the drink dispensers.
• Gary’s Cafe located at 2045 Texas Avenue in Bridge City. Score: 96. Demerits are for a couple of tomatoes found with mold.
• Ruby’s Country Cafe located ay 10930 Highway 12 in Mauriceville. Score: 94. Demerits are for several roaches found and storage equipment in need of being cleaned of old foods. It is noted on the report that the establishment will call pest management for treatment.
• Waffle House #1031 located at 115 East Freeway in Vidor. Score: 94. Demerits are for in need of having a sign in the restroom and hand- washing areas stating ‘Employees need to wash hands before returning to work’, for storing air filters above napkins, and mold found inside ice machine.
