ORANGE —
Santa Claus is making final preparations for his Christmas Eve trek around the world, and he will be in Orange to meet with children for final revisions to his list.
The Heritage House Museum, located at 905 W. Division in Orange, will hold its annual “Christmas with Santa” event from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 5, and Thursday, Dec. 6. The public is invited to come meet Santa Claus and for free tours of this historic home and refreshments.
In previous years, the event has been held for three consecutive nights, but has undergone a slight change this year.
“Our Board of Directors decided to cut it down to just two days this year,” said Joyce Atkins, director of the Heritage House. “Tuesday night was always our slowest night and attendance would pick up each night following. We’ll see how it goes with just Wednesday and Thursday night this year, and, if we are busy, we’ll add another night next year.”
Each house of the beautiful home is decorated in the holiday spirit, and each room also features its own tree. Ornaments and other festive decorations adorn each room of the house as well.
Atkins said the organization has reached out to the community and area schools and hopes attendance will reflect those efforts.
“It really is a wonderful event for the community,” Atkins added. “The children love seeing Santa Claus and playing with the toys, and the parents really like the house once they take the tour.”
