Former Deweyville resident headed to be a doctor
Former Deweyville resident Christopher Eric Bailey has completed the final requirements and was granted a Doctor of Philosophy in Cellular Biology by the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston on June 9.
His research and dissertation concentrated on the studies of the influence of aging on skeletal muscle reperfusion injury.
Bailey, a graduate of Community Christian School in Orange and East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas, has since joined his wife, Dr. Kimberly Bailey, at East Tennessee State University, Quillen Medical College, where he will complete his last two years of medical school.
He is the song of Melissa and Bill Bailey of Deweyville, and his grandparents are Malissie and Bill Bailey of Orange, and the late N.L. and Lynn Spears of Deweyville.

Sabine FCU receives commercial beautification award

David Derosier, Chairman of Keep Orange County Beautiful (KOCB,) presents the Second Quarter Commercial Beautification Award to Linda Cupit, CEO of Sabine Federal Credit Union (SFCU) at their main office on Strickland Drive in Pinehurst.
