BEAUMONT —
If you’ve caught yourself humming “On the first day of Christmas, my true love gave to me…” you just might want to change your tune.
Entergy Texas has launched its own version of the famed 12-day countdown, but no singing talent is required. Called ’12 Days of Giveaways,’ the Facebook contest promises there aren’t any partridges, pear trees, golden rings or maids a’ milking. Instead you can count down to Christmas by correctly answering a new trivia question each day, getting your name in a drawing for some nifty prizes. The giveaways have already started and will continue each weekday through Tuesday, Dec. 18.
So how does the contest work? Log on to Entergy Texas’ Facebook page at facebook.com/EntergyTX, or use a direct link, http://tiny.cc/tx12day that opens directly to the contest.
A multiple choice trivia question about Christmas or energy efficiency will be posted on the site at 9 a.m. each day. Contestants have until 9 p.m. to post their answers. Those who give the right answer will have their names entered into a drawing with a winner announced by 8:30 a.m. the following day. Prizes can be picked up either in Beaumont or The Woodlands.
So just what might Entergy Texas give you that will have you singing a new tune?
Prizes by include the following: a Keurig coffee maker, $179; $200 Lowe’s gift card; two Kindle Fire HD 8.9-inch tablets, $299 each (awarded on two separate days); $250 Target gift card; two iPad 3 16GB tablets, $499 each (awarded on two separate days); Nest Learning Thermostat, $249; $300 Best Buy gift card; Nintendo Wii U, $349; Energy Star home theater speaker system, $399; and, finally, a Macbook Air 11-inch laptop, $999.
Those wanting more information need only check out Entergy Texas’ Facebook page. And just to make sure it’s fair, you can only win once.
