ORANGE —
One of the best holiday traditions in Southeast Texas returns to make sure area children have a Merry Christmas.
The Service League of Orange has announced the location for the 2012 Toy Coffee, an annual fundraiser which accepts new, unwrapped toys or cash donations as admission into a beautifully decorated house in the Orange-area.
This year's event will be held from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 6, in the home of Frank and Sue Pritchard, 180 Greenhead Point in Orange. The Pritchard's house is located in the Waterwood subdivision off of State Highway 62.
The tradition of the event features house with each room wonderfully decorated in the holiday theme. The public is invited to tour the home and enjoy the festive mood of the season and tasty refreshments following the tour.
The toys and monetary donations are provided to the Salvation Army of Orange County, which, in turn, uses these toys to help fill the Christmas wishes of hundreds of children across the area.
In 2011, the event was held in the home of Randy and Kathy Brown. The event raised more than $5,100 and more than 450 toys were donated.
