HOUSTON —
Houston police say two people died after their car was hit by a speeding vehicle driven by a man allegedly high on drugs.
Investigators say the accident happened early Monday as the victims were preparing to pull out of a gas station parking lot. The man and woman were dead at the scene.
Police say 33-year-old Theodore Hargrove has been arrested on two counts of intoxication manslaughter. Authorities say his vehicle ran a red light before plowing into the stopped car.
Hargrove was slightly injured in the wreck and was stable when taken to a hospital. Sgt. S. Sorge says Hargrove was found to be under the influence of PCP.
Names of the victims weren't immediately released.
No details were immediately available on an attorney for Hargrove.
