VINTON, La. —
Two people were arrested earlier this week on various drug charges in this Southwest Louisiana community near the Texas border.
Vinton residents Terrence Budwine, 32, and Lacy Courmier, 20, were both arrested Tuesday inside Budwine’s home by law enforcement agents with the Louisiana State Police, Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office and Vinton Police Department.
Budwine, who had an outstanding warrants for a probation violation, was charged with distribution of a Schedule II controlled dangerous substance. He was also charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled dangerous substance and distribution of a controlled dangerous substance in a drug-free zone.
Budwine was also reportedly in possession of controlled substance when he was arrested by officers. He was transported to Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility and bond was set at $625,000.
Courmier was charged with possession of a Schedule IV substance and resisting arrest. Courmier was also taken to Calcasieu Parish Correctional Facility and her bond was set at $55,000.
