Orangefield students ‘Learn not to Burn’
ORANGEFIELD — Orangefield Elementary students are really getting the message about fire safety.
“Learn Not To Burn” were the key words taught to the wide eyed youngsters by Bridge City Fire and Rescue volunteers during their visit to OES in observance of National Fire Prevention Month.
Using a mobile unit that simulates a smoke filled structure, “The Smokehouse,” firefighters gave the students hands on lessons which focused on ways to practice escape from a home in case a fire occurs. Additionally, fire safety educators taught students how to keep homes fire safe and prevent painful burns.
