The Little Cypress-Mauriceville Homecoming Parade is scheduled for Oct. 12. Line up begins at 5 p.m. at Little Cypress Junior High. A Tailgate Party will be held immediately following the parade in Bear Park. The band, Daylight Broadcast, will perform during the party, and LC-M HS Bear Bar-B-Que will sell links, turkey legs, and boudain, along with chips and drinks. The Candlelight Pep Rally is next on the agenda, beginning at approximately 7:45 p.m. in Bear Stadium.
“Parading Through the Decades” is this year’s parade theme. There is no entry charge for school groups. Other fees are as follows: Community Groups – $50; Businesses - $100; and Political Ads - $150. The Parade Committee reserves the right to refuse any entry which does not conform to the guidelines or does not represent the values upheld by the LC-M CISD.
Awards in the form of a traveling plaque will be presented at the Candle Light Pep Rally to winners in the following categories: Best Depiction of Theme Float, Best Overall Float, and Most Spirited Float. The judging panel will be a group of local celebrities.
