VIDOR —
On Oct. 5, Vidor High School Pirate Players were host to a professional actor based in New York City. Casandera M.J. Lollar originated one of the female roles in the play “Women and War” by Jack Cunningham, a play which will be produced by Vidor in November.
Originally from Jasper, Texas, Lollar graduated in 2002 and made her way to the Big Apple. She was nominated for the 2012 Outstanding Lead Actress Award for the New York Innovative Theatre Awards.
Vidor High School will be mounting a production of “Women and War” on Thursday, Nov. 15 and Saturday, Nov. 16 at the Vidor High School auditorium. The playwright (Cunningham) will be in town from New York that weekend to offer a question and answer session following each play.
The Nov. 15, performance will be dedicated to our veterans. The Vidor High School Student Council will host a pre-show ceremony at 6:30 p.m. The Culinary Arts Department will offer a wide array of snacks at 7 p.m., and the Theatre Department will present their play at 7:30 p.m. On Friday, November 16, the performance time is 7:30 p.m. Jack Cunningham will appear immediately following each performance. Ticket prices are $5 and will be on sale at the door. Contact Adam Conrad at aconrad@vidorisd.org for further information.
