Cheers and Jeers

ORANGE — Cheers to former West Orange-Stark product and current Lamar University quarterback Andre Bevil. Bevil completed 19-of-32 passes for 270 yards and four touchdowns in Lamar’s Southland Conference-opening 48-38 victory over Southeastern Louisiana Saturday.

Jeers to the Dallas Cowboys for allowing the Detroit Lions to come back from a 27-3 deficit in a 34-30 loss Sunday as Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo threw three interceptions, two that were run back for touchdowns when Dallas looked like it had the game in hand.

Cheers to the organizers of the Bridge City Heritage Festival for making it a huge success.

Cheers to the city of Orange and the Orange Firefighters Association on reaching agreement on a new contract after negotiating for a year. This shows both sides can reach agreement when they compromise and work together.
