Welcome the racers to town
The Southern Professional Outboard Racing Tour will be coming to Orange again this weekend for the Showdown on the Sabine boat races Saturday and Sunday, at the City of Orange Boat Ramp off Simmons Drive. This will be the second time in three years the tour has come to Orange; last year the races were cancelled due to Hurricane Ike.
We encourage Orange County residents to attend the festivities; the races are immensely entertaining, and a good thing for the community as they bring many people to our area, providing a welcome economic boost to Orange and the surrounding cities and raising the area’s profile.
We encourage area businesses to help welcome the racers back to Orange as well, with the use of their signage to let the racers know we are all glad they came back to town. Not only will our support be good for bringing the racers back in future years, but it will also demonstrate to other event organizers that bringing their events to town will also be beneficial, resulting in further economic boosts for the area.
Welcome the racers to town and go see them this weekend. Let’s all have fun and make the racers look forward to coming back next year.
