ORANGE —
The news from Norway is a grim reminder exactly how much this world has changed.
Americans can relate how it feels to see the news of a country being under such a horrific attack. Our country is inching closer to the 10 year anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
Norway's tragic story is one of a man setting off a bomb in downtown Oslo, Norway and then the man firing guns at a youth camp 20 miles away for over an hour. The attacks have left at least 92 people dead.
Gone are the days of wars being fought on the frontline. These days terrorists and others who seek to harm the innocent now attempt to attack and run.
We need to remain vigilant in being safe and keeping the ones who died at the hands of these insane killers in our thoughts. We can never forget exactly how they were taken from us.
The attention for now is where it needs to be, with those in Norway. Find a way to help these people get on with life again. Americans know all about these types of attacks and we can be the first they turn to for support.
We send food and money all across the globe and now it might be time to send more than items which can be bought. We need to be the shoulder Norway cries on.
Then on Sept. 11, 2011, Norway will remember how we played big brother and it will then be time for little brother to help us get through what will be an emotional day in our history.
