James Ray Harris, 58, of Buna, Texas died Tuesday evening at his home.
Funeral services were held 2:00 p.m. Friday, Feb. 8, at Friendship Baptist Church in Buna with burial at Morse Cemetery in Buna. Visitation was Thursday, Feb. 7 at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna.
Born Nov. 26, 1954 in Kountze, he had lived most of his life in Buna. He designed and supervised construction of tug boats.
Survivors include his wife, Janice Harris of Buna; his daughter, Lisa Barooah and husband Arin of Woodlands; step sons, Wade Jones of Buna and Willis Daville of Bridge City; brothers, Huey Harris, R.V. Harris and Roger Harris all of Buna; sisters, Effie Moss of Evadale, Wanda Cates and husband Arnold of Buna, Betty Emenheiser of Winnie, and Linda Richards of Vidor; and 5 grandchildren.
