ORANGE — Rayce Goins was born December 2, 2008. He was extraordinary and sweet and the absolute center of the world for his parents and grandparents.
He loved dinosaurs and trains. He loved his mama to read to him every night. His favorite books were about dinosaurs, lost hats and trucks and dancing giraffes. He loved Batman and The Flash so much that he made his daddy wear matching super hero t-shirts. He may have been small and his skin amazingly soft to the touch, but his personality was larger than the pterodactyls he pretended to be. When he donned his super hero cape, he loved to fly through the house fighting bad guys and injustice.
Heartbreakingly for those blessed to know him, his time here was very short. He went to be with Jesus on January 23, 2013. Our loss is profound, but we are comforted to know that we will see him again in heaven one day where there will be no more tears and no more heartache. He is preceded in death by his sister, Piggy the Schnauzer. He is survived by his mother and father, Blaine and Melissa Goins, his sister, Mouse the Westie, his paternal grandparents, Barbara and Jimmy Goins, his maternal grandparents, David and Terryle Matlock, and a very long list of great aunts and uncles and friends of his parents that were closer than siblings.
