Mrs. Charles Etta Norman

ORANGE — The Celebration of Life for Mrs. Charles Etta Norman, 56, of Port Arthur, TX, will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Port Arthur. Rev. Patricia Wells, pastor, will officiate. 

Rites of Christian Entombment will follow in the Serenity IX Mausoleum at Live Oak Memorial Gardens under the direction of Sparrow Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the church.

She was called home Saturday, March 16, 2013, at her residence.

A native of Orange, TX, she was a 1975 graduate of Lutcher Stark High School.

She furthered her education at Lamar University. Majoring in Psychology, she obtained her Bachelor’s in 1979 and in 1981, her Master’s Degree as well.

She resided in Port Arthur, TX 36 years. She was the Associate Psychologist for the Port Arthur Independent School District for 29 years.

A member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church, she was also an active member of the Epsilon Theta Omega Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Nettie Mae and L.C. Williams, and her father-in-law, Steward Norman.

Charles Etta leaves to celebrate her life and cherish her memory, her loving and devoted  husband of 36 years, Oliver Norman, their two daughters, Whitney and Ashley Norman, all of Port Arthur, her aunts, Magnolia Franklin Houston, TX and Bernice Franklin of Orange,  her sisters, Pamela Thibodeaux (Joseph) of Galveston, Texas and Tara Moore of Orange,  two sisters-in-law, Margaret Burton (James) of Beaumont, TX and Erin Lopez (Francisco) of Port Arthur, two brothers-in-law,- Steward Norman, Jr. (Pamela) of Beaumont,  and Stanley Norman of Port Arthur,  loyal friends  Belinda Williams (Gerald) of Baytown, TX, Kenneth Dennis (Diane), Ruthie Arceneaux, and Gary Arvie all of Port Arthur,  a host of family and friends.
