LITTLE CYPRESS —
There will be an election for the LC-M CISD Board of Trustees this May, but the race changed slightly on Monday with the withdrawal of a candidate.
Ron Borel, who originally filed as a candidate for Position 7 on the Little Cypress-Mauriceville Consolidated Independent School District’s Board of Trustees in early February, announced his withdrawal from the race on Monday by notifying Lisa Ludwig, the district’s election coordinator and secretary to the superintendent.
This past Friday was the final day to file for a place on the ballot. Monday was the deadline to withdraw from the election, which will be held on Saturday, May 11.
Jason Woods, the incumbent for Position 7, will see re-election to the Board of Trustees this May, but he is opposed by candidate Blake Istre. Rex Peveto, the Position 6 incumbent, is unopposed.
