BRIDGE CITY —
Challenges are just one ingredient in the recipe to the creation of Elements Café & Bakery, 1055 Texas Avenue in Bridge City.
Alex Bickham, owner, worked two jobs while attending college to acquire the start up funds for the business. Bickham, of Deweyville, searched for locations while attempting to acquire a loan for the initial start up of the establishment.
“I signed the contract for the location on my birthday [February, 2011],” Bickham said.
Bickham also said he wanted to offer customers something different.
“We have at least 50 varieties of cupcakes,” Bickham said. “However, we have invented many more since we opened.”
Elements Café & Bakery offers indoor and outdoor seating as well as a drive thru.
Mondays offer a free cupcake with a purchase of lunch.
“We do encourage customers to order their lunch while they are here for breakfast.” Bickham said. “We also have an unlimited variety of flavored coffees.”
The menu features a variety of specialty sandwiches, soups, salads, desserts, coffees, and over fifty flavors of cupcakes.
Elements Café & Bakery also offers catering.
“We will have pies and cobblers for the holiday season,” Bickham said.
Elements Café & Bakery is open 7 am - 7 p.m. Monday - Friday and 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. on Saturdays. Happy Hour for half priced coffee is 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. Monday - Friday.
