VIDOR — Hunting season will be upon us before you know it, and Vidor ISD Community Education will offer a Hunter Safety class to prepare those who want to safely enjoy the season.
The course, taught by Danny Odom of Texas Parks and Wildlife, will last three evenings, and those attending must attend all three nights to be certified. The course will be held from 6 p.m. - 9:30 p.m., nightly, Tuesday, Sept. 4 through Thursday, Sept. 6, in the Vidor High School cafeteria, 500 Orange St. in Vidor. Registration in advance is best, so the instructor will know how many books to order. Patrons can register at the Vidor ISD administration building. There is no online registration for this course. The fee for this course is $15 and must be paid in cash. This is a very popular course and tends to fill up quickly, so patrons are requested to sign up early.
Mr. Odom says that patrons must know their social security numbers for filling out forms, and those under age 17 must be accompanied by a paying adult. No other supplies are required.
