The couple raised their family on Pine Street in Orange from the early 1900s to the late 1950s. The diaries provided a firsthand account of daily life of the times.
The Joiners lived one block from he Southern Pacific Train Depot in 1917 which teemed with activity when the train stopped in Orange and titled the book.
Woliver uncovered four diaries in her mother’s effects. The diaries provided such a treasure of trove of history that she knew she had to wrote the book.
Woliver also provides photos of old Orange and weathered clippings local residents will enjoy seeing.
