VIDOR — An off-duty police officer was injured a major car wreck Saturday morning.
A major two-car collision was reported Saturday morning on North Main Street near Wexford Park in Vidor. A small grey automobile was traveling north on North Main Street and collided with a pickup truck. The driver of the car has been confirmed by an Orange Leader source as an officer with the Vidor Police Department.
Chief Dave Shows of the Vidor Police Department was reported to still be sorting out the details of the collision and not immediately available for comment. A dispatcher with the police department could not confirm if an officer was involved in the collision or not.
A source close to the officer has indentified the injured law enforcement agent as Officer Catherine Braneff. At last report she was at a Beaumont hospital undergoing a CAT Scan for what has been reported as extensive injuries.
