Gas prices in Orange County remain some of the lowest in the state by near 10 cents.
Regular unleaded gasoline prices have fallen by an average of 4 cents to $3.54 per gallon in the weekly AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch survey. However, the average price in Orange County is slightly more than $3.45 per gallon, nine cents below the state average.
The auto club credited recent global crude oil price declines, the end of the summer driving season, sluggish economic news and a seasonal switch away from more expensive summer gasoline blends, in a recent statement.
The statewide average is well below the national average of $3.78, just a penny decrease from last week.
The state’s cheapest gasoline, according to AAA Texas, is found in Fort Worth, where the average price fell a nickel to $3.47 per gallon. The most expensive gasoline is in Amarillo, where the average price fell 3 cents to $3.60 per gallon.
The average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $3.44 in the greater Orange area, which includes Orange, West Orange, Pinehurst and Little Cypress. The lowest advertised price found following a survey of nearly two-dozen locations was $3.39 per gallon at a convenience store on 16th Street in Orange, while the Exxon at State Highway 87 and FM 105 in West Orange had the highest advertised price at $3.54.
A survey of more than a dozen fuel locations in Bridge City and Orangefield revealed an average price of $3.46 per gallon with a convenience store on Texas Avenue in Bridge City having the lowest advertised price of $3.41 per gallon on Friday.
The average price for a gallon of gas in Mauriceville is $3.52 following a survey of the three fueling sites in town.
In the Vidor area, which includes Rose City and Pine Forest, a survey of approximately 20 locations revealed an average price of $3.45 per gallon. The lowest advertised price was $3.38 at Conoco on North Main, while several locations had prices at $3.39. The most expensive advertised price was $3.60 per gallon at Super Stop location on FM 1132 near State Highway 12.
