ORANGE — The City of Orange Fire Department responded to a house fire 9:12pm Saturday at 1301 Bay in Orange.
First arriving units reported heavy fire showing from the front window of the home.
The first fire crew on scene were able to determine that the occupants were not inside the home.
The fire was extinguished quickly and a family cat was found deceased inside the home from the heavy smoke. The home owner arrived at the scene around 9:30, they had been at church then at a meeting.
The fire marshal was called to the scene to investigate the cause of the fire. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation but it has been determined that it was unintentional.
“It had something to do with the entertainment center,” Deputy Fire Chief/EMC Jerald L. Ziller said. “But we were able to determine it was not arson.”
The home owners made arrangements to stay with friends.
