MAURICEVILLE —
A two vehicle collision left one man dead and another in critical condition early Friday morning.
Timothy Owens, 38, of Beaumont, was killed when his 2003 Chrysler passenger was struck head on by a 2006 Chevrolet truck on Highway 62 Friday morning driven by Robert Manning, 28, of Orange.
The 2003 Chevrolet Chrysler was traveling northbound on Highway 62 and the 2006 Chevrolet truck was southbound.
Original reports from DPS state one of vehicles veered into the opposite lane and collided with the second vehicle.
Owens was pronounced dead at the scene and Manning was transported to St. Elizabeth hospital in Beaumont by medical helicopter. Manning is listed in critical condition.
The Texas Department of Public Safety said a blood analysis was taken and sent to the DPS Crime Lab for analysis. Results from the blood test could take between four and six months.
The investigation is ongoing.
