Missing Plano girl believed to be in Vidor
A 15-year-old Plano girl who has been reported missing is believed to be in the Vidor area.
Kaycee Lynn Grantham was seen recently with 34-year-old Shawn Austin at a Vidor residence.
“We have been looking for her since the incident, but received information she was seen in Vidor,” said Jerry Minton, public information officer for the Plano Police Department.
According to a press release from the Plano Police Department, officers responded to a report Sept. 3 of an assault and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Grantham’s mother and girlfriend of Austin reported to police he assaulted her and took her white 1997 2-door Ford Explorer with Texas license plate number 726BDG. The woman also reported her daughter willingly left with Austin.
Grantham is described as 5 feet 3 inches tall, 150 pounds, hazel eyes, brown hair. She also has braces on her teeth and a heart tattoo on her ankle.
Austin is described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 160 pounds, brown eyes, blonde hair. He has multiple tattoos on his arms and legs. A tattoo on his stomach is of the word “SHAWN. “
Grantham and Austin may have a pit bull puppy with them.
Austin has multiple warrants for his arrest, including one for robbery, and a motion-to-revoke probation.
“He should be considered dangerous,” Minton said. “It is our understanding he could become violent.”
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Plano Police Department at 972-941-2148 or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children at 1-800-843-5678.
