ORANGE —
The Lamar State College-Orange Teachers of Tomorrow (TOT) Organization has selected new officers for the 2013 semester. The group is one of the largest organizations on campus, meet once a month and all participants are education majors pursuing a profession in teaching. Officers for the new semester are listed below.
Jeremy Sarver was elected president after having served as vice president of TOT last semester. He plans to teach high school-level history or math, and is a regular on the Dean’s and President’s lists. He is a 1999 graduate of Buna High School, where he played football and baseball and was on the academic team.
Ashley Mann was elected to serve as co-vice president after serving as the TOT historian last semester. She plans to complete her bachelor’s degree at Lamar University and wants to teach Life Skills classes at the elementary level. She is a 2010 graduate of Vidor High School and volunteers in her spare time for the Special Olympics swim meets.
Ashlee Barney was elected second vice president, after serving on TOT’s social committee. She plans to attend the University of Georgia to earn her teaching certification and hopes to teach pre-school through first grade. She is a 2011 graduate of Vidor High School, where she was involved with the choir and acted as editor for the school’s journalism club.
Daniel Kibodeaux will serve as secretary for TOT and plans to earn his bachelor’s degree at Lamar University, with hopes to teach math at the middle school level. He is a 2010 home school graduate, but participated in the 4-H club while serving as their president.
Amber Sarver was elected at treasurer, after serving as historian last semester. She plans to complete her degree at Lamar University. She is a 2003 Buna High School graduate and is married to TOT’s president, Jeremy Sarver, with whom she has two children.
