VIDOR —
Authorities are still searching for a man who stole a car and then fled on foot after crashing.
According to Sgt. Chad Hogan of the Orange County Sheriff’s Office, deputies from the agency gave pursuit following the report of a stolen car Friday morning.
An unidentified woman reportedly entered a convenience store in an undisclosed block of Main Street in Vidor shortly after 5 a.m., Friday, and left her keys in the ignition of her car. An unidentified man then took the car without permission.
Deputies from the Orange County Sheriff’s Office quickly located the vehicle in Vidor and gave pursuit, but the unidentified driver would not stop. The man reportedly lost control of the vehicle and wrecked in the area of Orange Street and Concord Street.
Officers from the Vidor Police Department and deputies from the Sheriff’s Office then searched the area, including behind houses and in wooded areas in the neighborhood, but were unable to locate the person.
