New retail store opening soon
WEST ORANGE — Orange-area residents will soon have another option when shopping for clothing and accessories and home goods.
Burke’s Outlet, a division of a family and employee owned corporation, Beall’s Inc., which operates Beall’s Department Stores in Florida, Beall’s Outlet Stores in Florida, Georgia and Arizona and Burke’s Outlet Stores in Alabama, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, Tennessee, Arkansas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Nevada, California, and New Mexico with headquarters in Bradenton, Fla., is opening a new location in West Orange on Oct. 9 at the location formerly known as Goody’s. The Beall’s stores in Florida are not associated with those in Southeast Texas.
“The opportunity to come to the Orange-area really presented itself when the Goody’s store closed,” said Pattie Alderson, Beall’s and Burke’s Outlets sales promotion assistant. “The opening of Burke’s Outlet brings something new to the Orange-area, and it will give people choices. And choices are beneficial with the way the economy is right now.”
According to Alderson, the soon-to-be-opened store will occupy more than 24,000 square feet and offer a large selection of ladies, men’s and children’s apparel, handbags and accessories, footwear and home necessities such as cookware, silverware, dishes, cups, towels and more.
The new business will employ more than a dozen personnel.
“The arrival of Burke’s shows that the national economy is good enough to allow some national retailers to expand,” said Bobby Fillyaw, director of the Orange County Economic Development Corporation. “And that these retailers look at the greater Orange-area as a viable retail market. This store will go well in this market.”
Fillyaw said not only does the opening of Burke’s Outlet mean several new jobs, but it also provides revenue for the property owner and it provides more options for shoppers.
The Oct. 9th Grand Opening event at Burke’s Outlet, which is just one of 12 on the same day in places like North Carolina, Tennessee, Alabama and Georgia, will include gift card giveaways to the first 300 shoppers each day on Oct. 9 and Oct. 10, as well as a weekend coupon advertisement and a drawing for a $100 shopping spree.
The store also offers shoppers a variety of programs, such as the Monday Club which entitles customers age 50 and older to receive a 15 percent discount on all purchases every Monday.
For shoppers under the age of 50, the Friday Club will do the same for shoppers every Friday.
Visit www.Burkesoutlet.com for more information or to become a VIP shopper to receive weekly updates on sales and clearance events and coupons.
“We’re excited to be part of the Orange area,” Alderson said. “We offer quality goods at affordable prices, and, in this economy, that is really important.”
Burke’s Outlet is part of a fast growing chain with more than 425 stores across the Sunbelt. The nearest Burke’s Outlet location is in the Crossroads Shopping Center on North Main Street in Vidor.
