WEST ORANGE —
A verbal spat between roommates turned violent late Monday night and led to the arrest of one woman.
Rhonda Bishop Haley, 52, was arrested Monday night following disturbance in the 4400 block of Holland Street. Haley was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon after police say she stabbed her roommate, another female.
According to reports, the unidentified female victim had several stab wounds about her head, left arm and one in the chest. The victim, who was also reported to be holding a 2-year-old child at the time of the attack, managed to escape the house and fled to another residence on Western Avenue in West Orange, where she called police.
David Peck, Orange County Justice of the Peace - Precinct 1, set bond at $100,000 for Haley.
The victim was transported to Baptist Hospital Orange where she was treated and released.
