Two important pieces of Orange County’s past recently passed away.
Robert “Bob” Shinn died Friday at the Medical City Hospital in Dallas while Dr. Max A. Pachar Sr. died Sunday.
Shinn was on the board of many businesses in his career including Ramada Hotel Owners Association, Orange Savings and Loan, Lamar College Foundation, Lutcher Theater and the United Way in Orange. He was also a past president of the Orange Chamber of Commerce and was once named the Citizen of the Year.
A memorial Service will be held later this month at the Westminster Presbyterian Church, where he was a member, in Dallas with a graveside service at Memorial Park Cemetery in Magnolia, AR. Arrangements by Lewis Funeral Home, Inc. of Magnolia, Ark. Dates can be found at www.lewisfuneralhome.biz.

Pachar was a former president of the West Orange-Cove CISD School Board and he owned Pachar Veterinary Clinic for almost 70 years. The business is still located on Park Ave. in Orange.
Pachar was a 1939 graduate of Lutcher Stark High School and he was Valedictorian of his 1949 class at Texas A&M.
Visitation services will be held at Claybar Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 6th from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Claybar Funeral Home Thursday, March 7th at 2 p.m. Burial will follow after the service at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Orange.
