BRIDGE CITY —
A rash of home burglaries in the Bridge City/Orangefield areas has slowed down over the last week but the Orange County Sheriff’s Office is still searching for the suspects.
Chad Hogan with the sheriff’s office said theives have targeted high end neighborhoods during the day while the residents are at work.
Suspects have stolen smaller items like IPods, IPads, video games and cash from most homes.
One burglary happened when the homeowner was in the shower. He came out of the shower and saw the suspects taking off with his television.
He did get a look at the suspects and told deputies they were both black males and were driving a maroon Chevrolet Colorado.
Orange County Sheriff’s Office deputies are working with law officials in Hardin County and parts of Louisiana to see if burglaries in those areas are connected with burglaries in this area.
“The problem is the suspects are not leaving behind much evidence,” Hogan said.
Anyone with information on the home burglaries can call the sheriff’s office at (409)883-2612.
