ORANGE — It has been said that you can tell the size of the boy by the cost of his toys. I would suggest that you can tell the size of the man by the size of what he can successfully manage. Can someone please tell me how a male can consider himself a man when his car cost twice as much as the house he’s renting? How can a male consider himself a man when he’s parking an Escalade outside an apartment? How can a male consider himself a man when he’s riding on $2,500 rims and can only put $25 in his gas tank? Can someone please help me? Another question if I may, when it comes to manhood, how can a male consider himself a man living with a woman caring for her children but won’t care for his own? Genesis 1:28 (NKJV) “Then God blessed them, and God said to them, be fruitful and multiply, fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion over the fish of the sea, over the birds of the air, and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” For most of us we view this verse as to having children which is what males and females accomplish together. One of the finest attributes and accomplishments of manhood is the manifestation of the results of his choices or decisions that are beneficial and favorable. When we look at this verse we see God telling male/man to be fruitful, to produce favorable result. To make decisions that are beneficial, decisions that are going to be profitable for his family as well as himself. God’s word also gives the directive to multiply. This means to be about growth and increase, the evidence of producing favorable results. A man will plan to build on that which has been given to him. When God speaks of having dominion to the male, He is speaking of developing the ability to manage. Part of the development of male to man is for the male to learn and successfully manage his thoughts, emotions and actions. Very simply it’s time for our Adams, our male to man up. All of us will benefit from the development of our males to men. Strong men mean strong families, strong communities. Adam/Man it’s time to “MAN UP.”
