Hurricane Ike is still a top issue for the Orange County commissioners even four years after the storm.
Orange County Commissioners Court meets at 10 a.m. Tuesday this week due to Martin Luther King Day on Monday.
The court will discuss Amendment #5 for the Hurricane Ike Round One project with Texas General Land Office (GLO).
The State received 2 separate allocations of Community Development Block Grants (CDBG) from HUD totaling $3.1 billion for Hurricanes Dolly and Ike. The distribution occurs in three main phases: Round 1, Round 2.1, and Round 2.2.
A possible action ion considering the appointment of Spencer Fuss and Prentice Scarbough to serve as the ESD #4 Commissioner. The term will be from January 2013 through January 2015.
As well as discussing regular court business, the court will be asked by Orange County Engineer Clark Slacum to approve filling a budgeted position of a truck driver for the Road and Bridge Department. The position was vacated by a recent retirement.
Orange County Commissioners Court meets in the Orange County Administration Building located at 123 South 6th Street in Orange.
