PINEHURST —
Two Louisiana men are jail for drug charges following a report of gunshots fired Thursday afternoon.
Keenan Jermaine Wilridge, 23, and Cordoera Dean Felix, 24, both of Lafayette, La., were arrested Thursday afternoon following a traffic stop by the Orange Police Department on Western Avenue after witnesses reported vehicles fleeing the scene of Chili’s restaurant in Pinehurst after gunshots were reported to have been fired in the parking lot.
Wilridge was charged with possession of a controlled substance, a state jail felony, and Felix was charged with possession of marijuana, a class B misdemeanor.
Reports of gunshots being fired in the parking lot of Chili’s restaurant on Strickland Drive in Pinehurst were received shortly after 5 p.m., Thursday. Witnesses stated multiple vehicles were spotted leaving the scene, which two of the vehicles were located on Western Avenue in West Orange.
Both men claimed “they were shot at by an unknown person.” Along with arresting both men for the possession charges, law enforcement also discovered approximately $15,000 in cash. No weapons were found.
The investigation into the incident continues with the Orange Police Department Narcotics Division, Pinehurst Police Department and West Orange Police Department.
