BEAUMONT —
Police continue the search for man involved in a bank robbery Monday morning.
The Beaumont Police Department is seeking information related to a robbery at approximately 9:30 a.m., Monday, at Capital One, 3775 Stagg Drive in Beaumont.
Witnesses and employees informed police an unidentified black man wearing a black hoodie pulled tight around his head entered the building and jumped the counter at the first teller window.
The unidentified robber demanded money from the teller and grabbed a night deposit bag, which was being processed by the teller. The unidentified man reportedly had a possible weapon in his hand as he made a threatening gesture at the teller during the process. No other money was taken.
The culprit was wearing the hoodie, sun glasses, had a beard and was wearing blue jeans and brown gloves. He is reportedly 5’6 in height, approximately 130 pounds, and in his late 40s to early 50s.
The man fled the building through the south exit. Witnesses stated the man jumped into the passenger side of a single cab Chevrolet pickup truck, which was reported to be either pewter or gray in color. The truck was missing its tailgate and was last seen traveling east on College Street.
No information on the driver of the truck was available.
