ORANGE —
Elizabeth Ludwig, superintendent secretary for the LC-M school district, is an award-winning author and speaker.
Ludwig has published five books and two e-books to date and has dates set for two more books in the future.
“I always loved to read,” Ludwig said. “It is not a far jump from reading to writing.”
A fifth grade teacher entered a short story Ludwig wrote to a magazine which sparked the interest in becoming a writer.
Ludwig did not win the contest, but enjoyed the excitement of waiting to hear.
Ludwig waited seven years to be published. She said she wanted to learn the craft of writing and received many rejection letters along the way.
Joining the American Christian Fictions Writers in 2002 helped Ludwig learn how to submit her work correctly and to improve her skills.
Ludwig’s newest historical series from Bethany House Publishers. No Safe Harbor, the first book in the Edge of Freedom Series, was released in October, with two more books following in 2013 and 2014. The series shows how people are impacted by what belief they follow.
“My hope is to pay tribute to my family,” Ludwig said. “In the courage to face new challenges.”
Ludwig hopes to leave a legacy for her children and grandchildren with her writing.
“I want to write something they can read and not be embarrassed,” Ludwig said.
Along with her husband and two children, Ludwig makes her home in Orange, Texas.
