EVADALE, Texas —
Motorists traveling sections of two Southeast Texas highways will see some delays. The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) says railroad workers with Timber Rock Railroad will be making repairs to rail crossings along sections of FM 105 and FM 2246 in Evadale. The closures will last several days and include detours.
Beginning at 8 a.m., Tuesday, Feb. 12, Timber Rock will close its crossing on FM 2246 to all traffic. Motorists can use FM 1131 and FM 105 as alternate routes. The rail company expects to have the road reopened to traffic on Friday, Feb. 15.
Afterwards, on Monday, Feb. 18, Timber Rock will close its crossing on FM 105 to all traffic. Motorists can use FM 2246 and FM 1131 as alternate routes. Work on that crossing is expected to be completed by Wednesday, Feb. 20.
Timber Rock says it is closing the highway to allow crews to replace the subgrade and re-plank the crossing. TxDOT is reminding motorists to plan ahead and allow for extra travel time.
