ORANGE —
Several government offices and local schools will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
All non-emergency city offices in Orange, Vidor and Pine Forest will be closed on Monday, Jan. 21, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday. Each of these cities will resume normal hours of operation on Tuesday.
Offices in the cities of West Orange, Bridge City, Pinehurst and Rose City will be open for business as normal on Monday.
For those who have garbage collection on Monday, collection is scheduled to run as normal.
All Orange County offices, as well as state and federal offices will be closed Monday in observance of Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, as will the majority of financial institutions such as BBVA Compass, Orange Savings Bank, Capital One, Sabine Federal Credit Union and MCT Credit Union.
There will be no classes at area schools on Monday, as it is a student holiday for West Orange-Cove CISD, Little Cypress-Mauriceville CISD, Vidor ISD, Bridge City ISD and Orangefield ISD, as well as Lamar State College-Orange.
Monday is a teacher workday at the Vidor, Bridge City, LC-M and Orangefield school districts. Only employees of West Orange-Cove CISD and Lamar State College-Orange will have a work holiday.
Monday is also a holiday for the U.S. Postal Service. There is no regular mail delivery, pickup or retail services on Postal holidays.
